What started as whispers of 5G radiation coming up on the horizon are now full on conversations.
While there are many who are excited for all the 5G is going to bring, there are also many who are worried about some of its negative effects and the unknown that 5g brings.
In this article we are going to go over three of the major pros and cons of 5G so that you can get a little glimpse into each side of the spectrum and be better informed on both sides.
So, let’s get started!
Here are 3 Pros and Cons of 5G Radiation:
Faster download and upload speeds
You may remember struggle to download files or watching videos buffer for minutes, this will no longer be a problem with 5G radiation.
With 5G radiation comes increased bandwidth which means blistering speeds!
According to CNN.com, 5G networks are expected to be 10 times faster than 4G LTE.
Because of the increased bandwidth, people will be able to use more of it without crowding out other users.
5G raWith more of the network dedicated to each individual smart device, smart devices will be able to run faster than ever before.
If you are close enough to one of the 5G towers with your 5G phone, you will be able to download entire episodes of HD programs in a manner of seconds.
More reliable connections
With the current 4G LTE technology, towers can get congested when thousands of people are around the tower, it can get congested and really slow down the connection.
This tends to happen in highly populated areas, where there are concerts or festivals, and so on.
With 5G, there will be more bandwidth available which means more devices can connect than ever before.
Greater number of IoT devices
5G is going to install more towers all over.
This means that it will be able to embrace up to 100 times more connected devices per unit area.
The idea behind IoT is to have multiple connected devices gathering data in real time over a particular period and 5G will allow this to happen.
More costly to maintain
Because more towers will be involved, more devices will be connected, and more maintenance will be required, 5G will cost more to maintain.
This means that the cost will funnel down to consumer and will increase the cost of data, internet, and everything else that runs on 5G
It is being discovered that most mobile phones and equipment/devices are not yet compatible with 5G.
This means that patches and upgrades will need to be sent out to consumer or, we will need to purchase new devices which can be very costly.

Radio Frequency May Become a Problem
There are a large group of people who are really concerned about 5G radiation and are advocating hard to stop it.
Although it is hard to really know how much EMF radiation 5G will emit, many studies claim that it will emit some amount for sure.
5G radiation operates at a frequency range that is not like other devices and this frequency range is known to emit EMF radiation.
If you have concerns about EMF radiation from 5G, IRDA.org has lots of information on how you can prepare and protect yourself and your family.
